Law of Power – Recreate Yourself

This is my first guest author post, and although I’ve stolen it from text messages, I did ask permission – so it counts.

The conversation started out, about a fantastic podcast by Victor Pride on Bold and Determined. Victor shared a parable, similar to a Sufi story – which will be one of the posts soon to come.

“Our office party is soon.

And, for me, I tend not to speak on what I haven’t studied. So I don’t mind going to war with studied/thought out views, as I’m 99% up against ignorant script repeaters and it’s usually just a case of tempering how stupid to make them seem; depending on the levels of their aggression or how high up the friend list they are.
But very little is forbidden for me. I just choose the audience; i.e. At work: exclude senior management, as part of their job, is to discard their humanity and become cyborgs during working hours. Handing out shots of poisoned water to the unknowing cattle (staff).

Because it keeps the ‘bewildered herd’ thinking that that is the way to be – bereft of their own view/soul/opinions.

And over time they lose their own opinions altogether and become……the script repeating sippers of the poisoned water.”

Now I have a rule that I follow – Don’t speak to people who don’t understand. It’s a waste of time…you scare them with truth, they insult you and gossip lies. Pointless.

On the other hand, we should be able to speak out and choose different options than the institutionalised ways of our civilized’ world, however, there are too many people; who don’t want to understand, or simply can’t understand, or comprehend what you are explaining.

“All the world’s a stage”

William Shakespeare
