My First Birthday Travelling
It was time to move on to Passau, a small town on the edge of Germany, to celebrate my birthday and take a train to my next workaway experience in Bavaria.

Arthur and I waited by the roadside a lot longer than we should have for our buses. We’d almost lost the warmth of the sun by the time they arrived. It was a damn shame to part ways with Arthur. We’d had a good laugh together and it would have been good to have travelled more with him. Maybe one day. Today, however, I was travelling to Nuremberg.
Oktoberfest was over and I had very little itinerary planned. I agreed to accompany Lucie to Salzburg. And… Salzburg delivered again.
I’d left the farm, met new friends in Madrid, reminisced with old friends in Barcelona and now I endured the twenty-two-hour coach trip to Oktoberfest, Munich, Germany. A trip that almost killed me… but it was completely worth it…
Feeling down about my experience on the farm, and sensing a fever coming on, I was really alone on the evening before I left the farm. Oktoberfest felt like a long shot. I had sought council with my good friend Jonah back home, but the decision on the next path was mine alone to decide.

In hindsight, I probably could have hitchhiked quite easily, but I wasn’t so confident about hitchhiking then. So I had to find another route to this distant, isolated farm… I made for Portugal.
Wednesday 18th September. I woke up early with the intent to complete a hike. I was given the idea by an American couple from Seattle the evening before. And so I awoke, made myself some chocolate spread on toast and re-read the blog posts to plan the journey… to San Juan de Gaztelugatxe, AKA. Dragonstone. George …
I’m currently in Bilbao, Spain. Before traveling to Bilbao, I found myself “waiting” for my work on the farm to begin in Ourense. I was spending way too much money in Madrid just to see the same city every day, so I decided to take a quick trip north, to the Basque city of Bilbao …
Hello Three weeks ago I was on the beaches of Ibiza having a blast. On my travels, I met a new international friend, I had a romantic/drunken evening with a beautiful American and most importantly of all… I made memories. The tales of the Ibiza weekender will have to wait however, as I am about …
