Experience Inhibitors & Bad Habits

This post was going to be on a completely different topic, however I caught myself in the act of a disgusting habit I have picked up and had to post on it. Fear not, I shall write my other post, but all in due time!

On the way home this evening I thought of a perfect rant and I had it all written out in my head, though once I arrived home, I took my coat off, sat on my bed and turned the PlayStation on.

I had no intention of using the PlayStation this evening, so why did I turn it on? One would say addiction, although I know I could, if I really wanted to, get rid of it, but it has given me some positives, such as good story games, it has taught me more than you would think, it’s my platform for Netflix and last but not least, I have some good gaming buddies on there, that are genuinely a great crack.

So why did I turn it on?

Repetitiveness I guess. A filthy habit that I catch myself doing almost every day and I curse each and every time. There’s rare few games with a fantastically written story with morale and purpose, so most of the time I’m doing repetitive shit, running round the map collected horseshoes. Procrastination. I guess even Netflix is procrastination, though I’m not going to be too anal, as we all need some chill out time.

I’m trying my best to release this habit, and perhaps a slight addiction, so that I can learn other life skills. Speaking another language, playing the guitar, blog posting, researching and studying the life of other travellers.

Let me know what you think! Are you running around collecting feathers? Do you find the consoles are prohibiting your soul search, your skills, your life experience?

  1. Sounds familiar mate. I solved the ‘problem’ by quitting gaming alltogether and by only watching informative stuff on Netflix like travel shows or documentaries.
