New Year 2019

The New Year is approaching and as per normal my mind fluctuates with thoughts, ideas, and ongoing scenarios. A stronger and stranger thought is fate.

The first day of the new year will mark 113 days away from home. Minor to some, major to most.

I’ve met the greatest of people with the greatest of stories.

My stories aren’t so great. I share but drunk and embarrassing stories.
Great entertainment, not a great achievement.

Almost everyone I have met and had the good fortune to spend time with on my expedition has inspired or motivated me without intention.

Strong. Determined. Confident.

Yet, never forgetting the times when suicide was the answer I desired.

They are key to me being here.

Just taking my trip experience into account, I’m running into new opportunities, new friends for life, new vibrations. Actually writing this, I’m realising… it’s just life.

Being imprisoned for the majority of your time on a modern plantation doesn’t allow the natural process of life to flow. I feel lucky to have almost killed myself in the past.

It sounds strange, doesn’t it?

Though it led me to a deeper understanding of the human brain and the ether that combines all living things.

Since I gained the slightest basis of understanding, I have been following my instinct and searching for opportunities to achieve my long term goals.

“An individual develops courage by doing courageous acts”

– Aristotle

Maybe the Norns are threading fate. Maybe it’s God’s plan. Or the Greek Goddesses of old are measuring everything and everyone.

Then again it could be pure entropy.

I don’t think it’s important to know, only to accept perhaps fate is predetermined… nevertheless plan and work towards your desired future regardless of what may or may not be.

A friend recently told me he doesn’t believe in New Year’s resolutions. I understand his reasoning.

I believe it’s important to consciously create short and long term goals and always work towards those. Don’t fall into the world of procrastination and relativism.

Secondly, wire those goals into your subconsciousness through repetitiveness.

Whether you use the New Year to set those ambitions or not, remember it’s only you who can set those goals and only you who can work towards them.

I conclude that’s why I have met the greatest of people on my trip because I’m now working towards something great.

This train of thought runs parallel to the law of attraction.

I don’t have 20-20 vision, so I can’t tell you what is going to happen next year, but what I do know is that I’ll be living by the following quote as I have done for the last three months.

Do one thing every day that scares you.

– Eleanor Roosevelt
